Come have a drink with ya buddies!

This month I have been preparing for a guest appearance in one of my favorite improv shows in the world, Dirty Water.

Dirty Water is an improvised serial - that is, each show is completely improvised on the basis of an established and recurring set of characters in the same location. In Dirty Water's case, that location is a dive bar in South Boston, and those characters are, well, these guys! And in this week's case, us guys. While the "real" Dirty Water is hitting Austin, Texas for the Out of Bounds Comedy Festival, their regular Chicago gig will take place as regularly scheduled, featuring an ensemble of guest characters.

More details:

Come on down to Boston’s cheapest watering hole this Friday and meet a whole new gang of regulars!

Have a drink with Jake Williams, a big rig driver from California. He loves taking outrageous risks and talkin’ truckin.’ Played by G. Scott Olson.

Check out a day in the life of Valerie Salvoni, a sassy waitress who lives by her own rules. She loves to pick fights and sing karaoke. Played by Liz Caradonna.

Share a laugh wth Jamie Carrol, a porn store manager and little league coach. His associate’s degree in psychology gives him license to question some of the key questions in the universe. Played by Ryan Murphy.

Meet Susan Jones. A housewife and mother of two six days a week, Susan lets loose and gets rowdy on Fridays, spilling some secrets in the process. Played by Stephanie Jones.

Joke around with Lawrence Lawrence, a Texas oil rigger whose most prolific skill earned him the nickname “Canary.” Lawrence speaks slowly, but is often brilliant in his stupidity. Played by Jarrad Apperson.

The regular Dirty Water cast will be in Austin, Texas, performing in the Out of Bounds Improv Festival. While we’re away, these talented and hilarious performers will take our seats at the bar. We’ve worked closely with them to master the Dirty Water art form.  Check it out on Friday and see Dirty Water like you’ve never seen it before.

James Fritz will open the show with some stand out stand up. He rocked the stage with us earlier this year and our girlfriends (typically harsh critics) insisted we have him back.

I hope to see some of you there this weekend!
